A loose association of individuals wishing to persuade Stirling Council to work with the UK Government to resettle vulnerable refugees from Syria. At a general election hustings for the Stirling constituency, in April 2015, we asked the three candidates who were members of the Council whether, in their view, Stirling should be welcoming vulnerable refugees from Syria to live in our community. All three said Stirling should. The other two candidates indicated they thought so too.

Stirling Citizens for Sanctuary was formed soon afterwards. We are seeking to work with the Council to maximise the quality of welcome which the refugees will receive when they come to live here, and to try to ensure that community organisations are given every opportunity to work with statutory organisations to enable refugees to integrate and achieve their full potential.
